Travel Clinic

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. To help the Nurses assess your travel needs it is important that they are in receipt of the assessment form before your appointment (please review, and complete the Travel Risk Assessment Form, see link below). Please be aware that you should be vaccinated at least 6 weeks before you travel. Kindly also allow up to 2 weeks for the practice to process your assessment for your vaccinations. There is a fee of £10 for a private consultation for travel assessment per patient. We only offer the following vaccines for FREE through the NHS:
• Hep A
• Polio
• Typhoid
• Cholera
All other travel advice and vaccines will be a private travel clinic assessment and will attract a fee of £20 per vaccine.

Important - To reiterate, it is important to make the initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
